In recent years, politics and "not in my back yard" philosophy has raised a variety of issues and, sadly, created an environment somewhat contentious to some public Civil War related events and activities, not only in California but nationwide.  Local reenactment activity has noticeably declined.  However, Civil War events do continue around California, as shown in the Events Schedule below.
